Don't forget Wade Boggs.... but we got him back on an episode of Cheers
And *Clemens, although he was in Toronto - it still felt the same.
Don't forget Mark Bellhorn last year  now that was the Yanks doing us a favor.

johnny definately isnt the best on the red sox, and he wont be the best on the yankees for sure. but his presence made such a difference for the red sox and thats a big hurt.

All we lose is his bat - that will not be replaced. But there are plenty of better CF's out there with an arm. I'm surprised the Yanks signed him. They will be loaded in bats, but not pitching. BoSox on the other hand signed Becket and are looking at Millwood. If memory serves me correct (sarcasm), 2003 Sox had the best bats in MLB, but lost with "not enough" pitching. Next year, Yanks sign Arod and get the best bats, Sox sign Schill and get better pitching - and win. Its been proven that whoever has the better pitching wins, and right now I like the Sox pitching. Gee, all we need is a SS, 1B, and a CF...

But for the most part you cant guarantee your pitching will hold up every single night. So what happens when your amazing pitching cant get the job done and then you dont have the offensive ability to come in and score?

And BTW, Millwood signed with the Rangers.

When did that happen? Missed it. Yeah, you can never guarantee pitching, but then again you can never guarantee bats... it all comes down to who shows up in the post-season. I'm just saying that I like the addition of Beckett, and although Jonny will be missed; over it. Becareful, he may be like the ARod curse!
Sox are looking to sign JT Snow. That'd be cool: 1B - check, SS - ?? CF - ??... getting there BTW, just saw the Millwood link.

Actually it was off Wakefield. And if Boston's pitching had held up in game seven (ie: Pedro), they would of kept their lead and not gone to extras. 2004, their pitching was nasty... I remember Arroyo coming in relief in extras to get Jeter to ground out, Shef and Arod to strike out... good stuff
