Default Nabokov signs with Sharks

Nabokov ended his holdout with the Sharks as management finally caved in, giving their star goalie the demanded 2-year deal.

How will Nabokov do without training camp? I dunno but I presume he's been keeping in shape -- not sure about on-ice competition during the training camp/holdout, though.

This is a needed move by the Sharks -- Kiprusoff tried but didn't cut it as a #1 guy

The Sharks has been sucking ever since the season started, resigning him was damn neccesary. First I thought he was gonna go back to Russia or something.

According to the IIHF, he's Kazastanish -- 'cuz they won't let him play for Russia.

Well they needed a decent goalie that's for sure.

Kippy was just bad.

Nabokov was born in Kazachstan.

But I believe he played most of his life in Russia. Then during the WJC I believe ... he played for Kazachstan because he wasnt accepted on Russias team.

According to the IIHF once you represent one country in a tournament organized by the IIHF ... you may only play for them in the future. Just like Brett Hull.

But had Nabokov gone back to Russia he would have been playing in Russian Elite League.

No training camp, that's my suggestion. Sure, he trained but it was no NHL competition level... I'm sure he'll get into form soon enough

I hope so, because at the beggining of the season here in San Jose, we were talking Stanley Cup, but now we're just talking of having a winning record...

Well, Nabokov is into form and winning games but now one of the best young d-men in the game, Brad Stuart, is gone home to Calgary after negotiations have come to a deadlock with the Sharks.

He wants a 10% race of his 1-point-something million dollar contract from last season.

I say, when he's your second leading scorer as a DEFENSEMAN, he deserves it.
