Luke Hudson gave up 10 runs in 1-3 of an inning.

And the Royals have been swept in two of their last three series, with both sweeping being the four-game varity.

I'm just thankful for the Boston sweep, which eased some of my pain. But they are not, by any stretch, playing much better.

Interesting indeed, Cat...

I don't know if they're startin' to come around for the rest of the year but for right now they are doin' everything that made them successful last year.

A lot have them written off but I wouldn't want to bet money on it if I were them...

Indians score 11 runs in the first and Travis Haffner ties Don Mattingly for most grand slams in a season.

Funny thing. Here I thought, after the Royals swept the Red Sox that the Sox were done and would never mentally recover and had little to no chance at getting to the playoffs. Or, at least that is what everyone was telling us in the media last week. A quick look at the standings shows Boston only one game behind the Yanks.

^ Now it's two games after the Yankees beat the Angels and the Tigers beat the Red Sox.

Twins 4-1 over the Indians tonight. Johan threw a great 8 innings and told the Mgr he was done, which is all the management can ask him to do. 9 K's, he now leads the league in innings pitched, K's and is tied for the lead in wins with 14.
Michael Cuddyer is quietly doing a fine job in the clean-up slot, hitting between Mauer and Morneau. He got a key hit in the 8th, driving in 2 runs and scored on a hit by Hunter.
The White Sox and Red Sox both lost, so the wild card is tightened up a bit.
No one is in control, just yet and 4 teams (including the Blue Jays) have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs, along with the division champs.

Also, it looks like the Cardinals may be headed in the right direction.

Death, taxes and the Mariners losing to the A's. Seattle is going to be something like 0-14 against Oakland for the season.

Big series starting Friday afternoon between the Yankees and Red Sox- 5 games in three days. That series has the potential to put the Yankees over the top if they take a 3-4 game lead into it.

My thought for today is how the NY Yankees are pulling away with the AL East. They lead Boston by three games. Johnny Damon is really starting to hit the ball with power.

As a side note Minnesota has the best home record at 41-18. Impressive. Chicago WS are second at 40-22.

The Twins have not played very well at home over the past couple of weeks. Sunday's win snapped a 5 game losing streak at the Dome. I hope last night's performance continues tonight and tomorrow afternoon. The Indians are a tough offensive team and to shut them down the way Santana did is impressive.
The White Sox come to town over the weekend, which should be a good series. The Twins will have their rotation set up pretty well with Bonser going Friday, Radke on Saturday, and Santana on Sunday. I haven't checked the Sox rotation. Tarkus, perhaps you could fill in the blanks?

To follow along with Bama's point, where did Damon's sudden power surge come from? He is hitting the ball as well as anyone in baseball right now.
