Default Air McNair to Retire??

Think he'll do it?? or a ploy to get out of the +30 salary cap Titans. Retire a year and sign next year with team of choice?? The Titans being over that much have no choice to rebuild and play young players

Without knowing exactly what the exact numbers are, I'm guessing he means the Titans will be 30 million dollars over the salary cap heading into next season.

Never was a fan of his, I sort of like Gray the 3rd string but Byron may come around.

You know, it'd be AWESOME if you kept up, cubs.

The Titans are in a perpetual salary cap nightmare.

It just goes to show: With the salary cap a team can be the Tennessee Titans one year, and Tennessee-Chattanooga the next (and will the Titans be next year's 49ers?).

I herd a report about this on Sports Center a couple days ago they were saying its just built up frustration and that no one truley thinks he will retire. I doubt he will but hey yiu never know.

I dunno. Listening to him on NFL Network last night... He sounds like a dude deeply concerned that if he continues at the rate he's going, he won't be able to run with his kids, which are just getting to the age where he'll need his legs and lungs and everything else to just keep up.

Honestly, I think it'd be a shame if he did retire, but I wouldn't blame him if he did. It seems pretty evident that, for now, anyway, the balloon has burst in Nashville. One wonders if they might not want to go another direction anyway. Tough as McNair is, he's always injured.

I am with Dave I got the impression he was thinking of retiring because he doesn't want to end up as some cripple in two years. I am not sure why he would try this as a ploy to get off of a team going nowhere as most teams who are going somewhere already have a good QB. Most teams in the market for QBs are typically crappy teams to begin with.
