That lost Cub 3 run lead in the 9th & subsequent loss to the Mets about a week ago was the game that killed The Cubs.
Now today SF gives up 7 in the 9th to LA in eerily the same circumstances.

The division is there for the taking if Houston wants it but I'll be curious to see how SF responds to such a shocking letdown with only one game to go.

Well, so far Houston is up 5-1 and they have Oswalt on the hill tonight it looks like they really have the upper hand going into tomorrow now.

It is beginning to look like we may see Houston/Atlanta and LA/STL for the first round of the playoffs.

That sounds about right doublee ..... I just can't believe how the Cubs rolled over and died during the past 4 or 5 games. Crazy.

That is what it will be unless the Giants pull it out then it will be SF/STL and ATL/LA. The Cards cannot play the Astros until the LCS due to the rule that you cannot face a team from the same division in the LDS. Odd how Saint Louis has to play the theoretically better team in the first round due to this rule. Though, I do not know that anyone wants to play the Astros right now.
