Of course you're one of the "people like you"....

Do you not show up on campus in a suit and other people look at you not knowing what you're doing there?

No suit.

Does anyone really wear a suit anymore?

I help instructors teach their courses more effectively and efficiently. I save the instructors time, time that they can then spend educating their students with office ours or answering emails.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of things about this job that I'm not proud of, but there are ways to actually help teachers and students within this job.

1. I wear a suit. Part of that is to get other people to avoid me. Another part is I like to pretend I've done something constructive with my life and I'm doing something important.

2. I thought you said you weren't the kid that comes in and tells me how to do my job. You sound like you are...just on the college level.

You wear a suit everyday?

I don't tell anyone how to do thier job. I offer a service and product that will make their jobs easier, and help their students in the process.

It really has nothing to do with how they "teach" per se. It is more a service to assist with paper work, grading, and other various tasks that teachers have to perform that take away from their ability to spend time with students.

You would be surprised at how appreciative most professors are.

Yeah, I wear a suit everyday. Friday is dress down day and I still wear one. Most of these young teachers come in here lookin' like porn stars. Damn kids.

You still sound like someone I try to avoid.

I wouldn't sweat it though CK. I'm a lost cause.

Watched your movie last night though...Good Will Hunting...in between the college game.

Every so often something like that gives me hope for the young people.

I've never worn a suit in my life. Job interview, sports coat and khakis, that's as far as I'll go. I do wear a tux every New Years

You mean to tell me that I don't give you hope for the young people?

I have to say yes cuz I'm too old to make a difference and all young people are my only hope.

Translation: I'm doomed.

Recently I've been listening to Betterman around the house and just keep telling my wife...

"Eddie wrote this when he was 17. Seven-f##kin'-teen."

She's annoyed...of course.

Point being: it could only be written by someone who was 17.

I'm pro-youth CK. You just have to understand the reasoning behind the logic.

Speaking of, I was listening to some PJ last night. I forgot how much I love this song (mocking people like Mush ):

"Glorified G"

got a gun, fact i got two
that's ok man, cuz i love god
glorified version of a pellet gun
feels so manly, when armed
glorified version of a pellet gun
glorified version of a pellet gun
glorified version of a pellet gun
glorified version of a pellet gun
don't think, dumb is strength
never shot at a living thing
glorified version of a pellet gun
feels so manly, when armed
glorified version of a pellet gun
glorified version of a pellet gun
glorified version of a pellet gun
glorified version of a...
always keep it loaded
always keep it loaded
always keep it loaded
kindred to be an american...
life comes...i can feel your heart...
life comes...i can feel your heart through your neck...
life comes...i can feel your heart through your neck...
like some...i can steal your heart from your neck...
glorified...glorified...

That's one of their more preachy songs...along with Evolution. Good songs but the lyrics are much more suited for younger folks...or the youth in you...however old someone is.

Here's a good version of Betterman

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goiWcak1FXg

Memories back when she was bold and strong
And waiting for the world to come along...

Ah, youth.

Ah, youth.
'tis a great tune.

Another Vedder line that I will always love:

"I don't mind stealing bread, from the mouths of decadence.
But I can't feed on the powerless when my cups already overfilled."

Excluding the political discussion, there were 3 total posts in here today.

I say by Wednesday, we degenerate down to ZERO.
