Default Playoff picture intact, Fall Classic picks.

Well the season is finally over( there's only two games left, and the playoff spots are locked up), the Giants lost, they're done unfourtunatley, that takes Bonds out of the MVP race, as well as Sosa. So actually, Gonzo will end up winning the MVP. But back to the playoffs: NL: West-Arizona
Central: Houston/St. Louis
East: Atlanta
WC: Houston/St.Louis
AL: West-Seattle
Central-Cleveland
East: New York
WC: Oakland

AL playoff games: Oakland vs. NY
Seattle Vs. Cleveland

I'll take Oakland and Seattle 3-1 each

And Seattle over Oakland 4-3

Then Seattle over Arizona 4-3

And the M's as World Champions

How do you think it will break down?

I'll stick with my initial prediction -- Cards vs. A's in the Series with the A's winning in 6.

I have kept saying Houston vs New York all along, but I will have to steer away from that, as both teams do not look that great. So, I too, will go with my late March prediction of Oakland over St. Louis in seven.

obviouslly the yankee's are going to win,

after they beat the A's in 4
then they'll sweep the TRIBE (tribe will beat the M's because the mariner's have a few injuries right now)
then the yankee's will beat the Cards in 5

yankee's world series champions again

I dunno...I just don't think they have it in them this year...

But, then again, I also said that last year...and the year before...and, well, you get the picture.

But anything can happen in the playoffs. The A's are going to be a tough team for them to beat, I think.

Well, we've had a lot of people go through these boards since April... only 3 of us posted predictions in the predictions thread back at the start of the MLB season. ....and one of us (NICK!), has changed their predictions from April.

Nick, that's OK -- I "allow" people to change predictions at two times: at any time before the season, and at the start of the playoffs -- I do it all the time

However, for this one, I'm sticking with my original pick -- the New York Yankees.

Here is how everyone that posted predicted in April:

SC-Lee: New York Yankees
NickHammy: New York Yankees
catman: Oakland Athletics
Wedge231: New York Yankees (over Atlanta or St. Louis)
iFroggy: New York Yankees
mjames: Oakland Athletics
Pgoodman: Seattle Mariners
Nate: New York Yankees
Dre2g: Oakland Athletics
SC Brandon: Atlanta Braves (over Oakland, in 6)
Peck: New York Yankees
H. Tiemann Jr.: New York Yankees (over Atlanta, in 6)
FL Tiger: St. Louis Cardinals (over Chicago)
PeterDewar: Toronto Blue Jays
mepasho: New York Yankees

TOTALS:
New York Yankees: 8
Oakland Athletics: 3
Seattle Mariners: 1
Atlanta Braves: 1
St. Louis Cardinals: 1
Toronto Blue Jays: 1

...when I was posting that last night, I forgot to post my predictions for each series:

Yankees over Athletics 3-2
Mariners over Indians 3-1
Astros over Braves 3-1
Diamondbacks over Cardinals 3-1

Yankees over Indians 4-1
Diamondbacks over Astros 4-2

Yankees over Diamondbacks 4-2

...and that's how it will play out

Thumbs up

Thanks for doing the hunting, Lee.
As I said, I picked the A's early and am sticking with them. The addition of Jermaine Dye may have been what will put them over the top.

What is everyone's prediction record after the League Division Series'?

I'm a sparkling 3-1 because of the Braves' defeat of the Astros.

To sum up my League Championship Series picks.... well, I see no reason to change them now!... Especially since the Mariners and Yankees are playing off for the AL title just as I predicted, so I'll stick with the Yankees to keep up with my origianl pick of New York winning the World Series, and I still think the Diamondbacks will find a way to come out of the National League.
