Former Auburn QB Gabe Gross was traded to the Rays last night. To make room Dan Johnson was designated for assignment to make room on the big league team. Might even start tonight.

My best friend is friends with his brother. Free Rays stuff for ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw on the ESPN ticker where the Tigers are moving Cabrera to first and Guillen to 3rd.

Prince Fielder finally found his stroke today, and won the game for the Brewers in the 8th. Derrick Turnbow got the save after a walk, SB, and an E got a runner to third with one out, but he got out of it.

He was booed coming into the game, cheered after the win.

Sox blow it at home to the Yanks 6-4 but the Cubs make up for it with a 10 inning 7-6 win over the Rockies on the road.

Cubs become the 2nd team to get 10,000 wins. Nice but I'd trade a few thousand for a WS crown..

Cubs falter 6-4 against the Rockies

Bound to come back down to Earth but still...

Sox trip Yankees with Crede single in the 9th of Joba 7-6

Like I said at the beginning of the year, Crede needs to be a White Sox as long as he's healthy. So far he's saved games with his glove & won games with his bat. Hell, he's got 2 Grand Slams this year to boot.

Just a clutch performer...

Wow, the Twins may need to do something with Francisco Liriano, either send him to the pen or send him down. He is all over the place and cannot seem to get anyone out right now. After 3 starts his WHIP is 2.71 and his BAA is .366.

How about Cliff Lee? The guy is virtually untouchable right now: 0.41 WHIP, 0.28 ERA, .109 BAA. Those are the numbers you see posted by HS seniors who dominate their league that get picked at the top of the draft.

I think Liriano said himself that he needs to work down in the minors.

Well that answers that question: Twins send Liriano down to the minors.

A pox on Bob Howry for giving up a walk off 2 run HR against the Nationals. :redhot:

Bobby Korecky has done a nice job for the Twins farm teams and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do, but I think I'd rather have seen Glen Perkins come up. He's a lefty that can either start or relieve and has pretty good stuff.

Before the year's done two teams in the AL West might have interim managers at the helm.

Isringhausen has got to go: 8 runs in his last 5 innings and two blown saves and two losses in his last six games. Of course LaRussa won't do it though.

Kazmir is making his way back. They have been advertising that he is slated to start for the Bulls on Monday Night.

At least Wainwright had enough in the tank to go the full 9 so LaRussa did not have the chance to let Isringhausen blow the game.

Wainwright reminds me of the pitchers I watched when I was a kid. He takes the ball and pitches. He throws strikes and lets the defense do their jobs behind him.
Old School is not bad.
