Default I Have Words For This Stupidity

I have to say that I applaud Eddie Griffin for this one. Beating-off to porno while driving your SUV. No one has ever thought of a better idea of what to do with the TV in their SUV

Quote:
Minnesota Timberwolves center Eddie Griffin was served with a civil suit accusing him of crashing his SUV into a parked car because he was drunk and watching a pornographic DVD, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The suit seeks $50,000 in compensatory damages and could be amended to include punitive damages, said Mike Padden, attorney for the plaintiffs. Griffin did not return a phone message seeking comment, nor did his lawyer, Jeff Wernick. Timberwolves spokesman Mike Cristaldi said team officials would not comment. Griffin told the Pioneer Press a day after the accident that he crashed his car because he was reaching for a cell phone that had fallen off his lap. The complaint, filed in St. Paul District Court, alleges the crash occurred because he was "under the influence of alcohol" and watching pornography on a TV set in his dashboard.

They are gifted athletically, but obviously not mentally. Might be time to get some new offseason hobbies. Plus, you're a rich NBA player. Can't you find some groupie to handle that for you?

And just when it appeared he was starting to learn his life around. What a waste this guy is turning out to be. I can remember when he was the top rated player coming out of high school and ever since then he cannot seem to stay out of trouble.

I have often wondered how car manufacturers got away with putting those monitors in such a place that the driver can easily view them.

They don't install it there from the factory. These guys get it custom installed like on Pimp My Ride. Personally, I'm all about driving dynamics, not DVD and bling crap, so it's a waste to me.

While the incident itself contains the laffs & stupidity, I wonder in a seperate vein where the $50,000 & possible punitive damages come in. Is there a real basis or is this a case of tryin' to milk the cash cow of a young, dumb athlete??
