Default What A Great Punishment!

This is so clever. I seriously applaud the father on this one. It's brilliant.

I think she got off waaay too light. Makes ya wonder what the type of discipline at home was that she opted out of.

After she had chosen the lesser of punishments, at least in her eyes, I would have gone the other way. She already made a choice to skip school & I wouldn't have allowed her another choice in the matter...

It's a pretty good idea, but if the father really wanted a good punishment he maybe could have thought of something better to put on the sign.

So, who else thinks he will be hauled in front of social services for psychologically abusing his child?

I guarantee he won't be. The liberal conspiracy to intrude on everyone's child-rearing, vast as it is, isn't quite as vast as many think.

Yea, whatever happened to hitting kids? Ahh, the good ol' days.

30 minutes? Come on now.

Kenny, I don't know if others pick up on your tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, but I have many times. Kudos.

yeah, four across the eyes always did the job for me.
30m is joke... I'd skip school everyday if I only had to hold up a sign for 30m!! I like the idea, but he should of made her stand there for at least 2 hours IMO.

Well I'm Asian, so there's a certain half-truth to what I say lol. Tongue-in-cheek? More like foot up my ***

I liked the father's gesture... but 30 minutes? Isn't that like a less wussy "timeout"?

I know...but you still get your point across with a touch of mustard.

I wonder who called the news? I'm assuming/hoping it was a motorist, and not the dad saying, "C'mere and lookit my genius punishment!"

She did get off lightly at 30 minutes. But the Dad knows her better than us, maybe that's all it'll take.

double=> I'd state an opinion but you know who would probably second judge it!

Parents who function as parents with spine are often scorned by the liberal establishment!

I like the punishemnt. However she skipped school which is 8 hours long so that is how long she should of had to stand there and hold the sign.

30 minutes is way too little. I'm with davematthews that it should have been the length of the school day.

Also, who wrote that sign? Awful, man. I've seen better ones from beggars.

A few weeks ago I was tempted to send my son out to "main" street of our very little town with a sign that read "I thought I got away with blowing off school and lying to my mom".

I thought a good long time and decided to trade public humiliation for loads of manual labor without attitude. I get the "no attitude" labor for another 8 weeks.
