Nomar at 1B? I don't really like that. He's a middle infielder. I could see him at 3B in an emergency, but I don't think he'll adapt well. 1B is a tough position to learn, coming from one who did it, by the way. Its all in the footwork.
But why not? The guy can still hit and 1B will allow him to save his legs a bit.

Soriano is starting to turn into a little baby IMO.

I was hoping Nomar would go to Atlanta or an East coast team.

I think it would've worked in Atlanta. With Renteria at SS, Nomar could play at second. Chipper at third, what an infield!

Was Atlanta one of the teams shopping for him? I remember the Yankees, Cleveland, Dodgers, and the Stros. But anyway, yeah - that's a nasty infield, not to mention 3 big bats!

Glad that Seattle signed Jarrod Washburn. He's a good pitcher coming at a decent price (4 years, a little less than $10 million per), and the Angels are losing an arm, even though the Anaheim still has plenty of good pitching.

No, I think it probably has more to do with the fact that he will get paid more as a 2B who hits 35-40 homers a year as opposed to an OFer who hits 35-40 homers a year.

Aren't we forgetting that Marcus Giles is a pretty good secondbaseman there in Atlanta? I'd rather stick with Giles than gamble on Nomar staying healthy.

Rangers pick up pitching help in trading for Adam Eaton and bullpen help from Otsuka.

Yeah, but the whole world knows he can play 2B - this is a one year deal (he will be a free agent next season), so next years clubs will look at him to play 2B too. Its not like he's switching for the rest of his career. I don't think the Nats are asking too much for him to play second, I mean are you a team player or what?

How bout Lofton going to the Dodgers?

There are a lot of teams that may need nametags for the first couple of days next spring. There has been a lot of movement in Florida and LA.
