Default Best state to live in

In my opinion it has to be Michigan. Just not Detroit. Anywhere else is a great place.

The northwestern part of Vermont is very nice and would get my vote; surprisingly it is a very rural, religious, and conservative area filled with farming and agricultural pursuits along the lakeshore, as opopsed to the rest of lower Vermont which is largely liberal and more suburban and mostly ruined by flatlanders moving up from Connecticut and Taxachusetts. The best duck hunting in North America is claimed in Vermont's Missisquoi Bay along the Canadian border...

You really can't beat Cali for its diversity and natural beauty ... minus the congestion, smog, illegal immigrants, and high prices.

I've been admiring Seattle a lot, even though it's just a city. But it sounds like a cool place.

You could never go wrong with the state of Kansas, thanks in part to our many exciting tourist attractions:

Caldwell, Kansas - Ornate Box Turtle Capital of the World
Cawker City, Kansas - World's Largest Ball of Twine
Lebanon, Kansas - Geographic Center of the 48 States
Wichita, Kansas - First Pizza Hut

And Delphos, Kansas (a whopping 20 miles from me) where there is a monument in the town square dedicated to Grace Bedell Billings. Billings was the little girl who wrote to Abraham Lincoln and suggested he grow a beard. The monument has bronze reproductions of her letter to Lincoln and his reply to her.

Whether you're here for a day or a week, you'll find something to make your visit enjoyable.

We all know it's Georgia people. Come on....

Wait a second. Hot as hell, the humidity is horrible, the grass grows almost year round, and the education system is in the toilets. Throw in the rednecks, it's almost like hell.

Someone get me out of here. Please.

How could you go wrong with Florida?

Of course you have to dismiss the hurricanes we get every year.

I do love going to the gulf on vacations. Nothing like sitting on the white sands watching the sun dissappear behind the waves. Very relaxing.

I've grown accustomed to the state of confusion. Most of my residents live there and they seem to be very content.

Don't you have to live in a state to truly know if you'd like it? I think so. Anyway, out of the states I've lived in (no matter how briefly)...

1. California
2. Ohio
3. Pennsylvania
4. Michigan
5. Nevada
6. Maryland

mush...

How about puttin' up some pics of the REAL Florida. You know...hurricane damage, children gettin' kidnapped every 2 seconds, a guy smuggling a few kilos of cocaine in a speedboat goin' across the Keys, and alligators eating boston terriers for lunch.

I still got the memory burned into my brain:

Driving cross-country in 2002 and we stopped in Amarillo for fuel (which isn't even the most "Texas part" of Texas IMO). It's Christmas time and inside the gas station there is a Santa Claus mannequin with cowboy boots and a cowboy hat on. The music on the radio is Christmas music...but by country "artists." A guy spits his chew refuse on the floor...OF THE GAS STATION (he too was pure Texas in outfit). The girl behind the counter has a Confederate flag t-shirt on and asks me and my wife... "y'all fixin' to have a good Christmas?"

I got my Yankee ass outta there as fast as I could.
