Default NBA Thought of the Day: Feb-March

Carmelo for Bynum are rumors making news today. But reports are Jim Buss of the Lakers said no way they're trading Bynum. Smart move. The Lakers don't need Carmelo, I don't think he'd mesh with Kobe's game, and Byum is a 7'1" big man who's 23. The Lakers need to do something, but it starts with Artest, no Bynum. They're too old and need some quickness and athleticism.

Jerry Sloan resigns, just a few days after signing an extension. Shocking. He's been on the Jazz sideline nearly my entire life. It allegedly has to do with a rift between him and star PG Deron Williams ... a him-or-me situation and as we know, this is a star's league.

I remember when Magic essentially canned Paul Westhead back in 1981. He then proceded to win 4 more NBA titles without him.

Good luck D-Will.

I guess a guy who was the only coach to win 1000 games with one team didn't have the resume to teach players anything anymore...

Good to see Dan Gilbert of the Cavs backed up his smack & stuck it to the Heat by being the ones to get a Title first...most consecutive losses.

The Heat can't beat the Celtics, can they? They lost again, even with the Celtics banged up and Paul Pierce being almost held scoreless. Forget winning a title if they can't get past a team in their own conference. Wade stunk it up.

Nice trade for the Knicks.

Balkman is the only guy under contract next year so they essentially cleared a ton of cap space while grabbing Anthony.

Team option on Billups next season but for over $14 million. You talk him down to something more reasonable and can keep him but aside from that let the others walk.

Still not a contender and won't be with that joke of a coach but they'll score a ton of points and more importantly, attract another big time free agent either this summer or next.

If they decide to get serious and fire D as well as get some defensive muscle, I like where they're going.

I seem that Knicks got a fight for this season... I think they can enter the playoff might as well be on semis if they playe good.

Any truth to the fact that the Nets were pretending to talk to Carmelo to drive the price up for the Knicks?

Glad this whole drama is over. Knicks are better, but I agree ... D'Antoni teams don't play defense at all, and they can't win in the playoffs without defense.

Knicks rally to beat Heat. How good are the Knicks? I think a top-tier PG away from being serious contenders, but like I said, their lack of defense will prevent them from getting to the Finals.

The Heat's inability to be top-tier teams is alarming. I think they're winless against the Celtics, Mavs, and others. I'm really looking forward to the Eastern Conference playoffs this year.

No, the Nets and their crazy Soviet owner thought they had a chance for Melo. Insane, right?

Just like they think they have a chance with Howard when his contract is up with that bunch of castaways who are getting worse by the minute. No way is a guy leaving the tax friendly state of Florida for Jersey when his next contract is his biggest.

Miami's woes continue. And here I thought Dampier and Bibby were the answer...

Yeah, that's funny is the Celtics will likely win the East again. The Heat are a mess and the Knicks wish they were contenders.

I can't stand ESPN's commentators. Jeff Van Gundy, Mike Breen, Jon Barry, and Jalen Rose get on my nerves to the point where I can't even enjoy the game without Van Gundy making an ignorant statement about how much he loves Tracy McGrady.

LOL, what about them don't you like? Nobody beats TNT's team of Chuck, Kenny, and Ernie. Welcome.

All 7 of those guys are useless.

Dr. Jack and Hubie are the only two I enjoy listening to on the national stage.

Cuz they're in your age group?

And Dr. Jack is still around?
