Default What Kind of Accomplishments Would You Like for Your City or State

As for the city of Mobile I would like to see our riverfront developed more. I think we need some casinoes so we can compete with the Mississippi gulf coast.

I would like to see slot machines at our Greyhound Dogtrack. Boy would that track boom if it did.

So many Alabamians go to Biloxi or Gulfport to gamble. Let's receive that money here in Mobile.

I would like certain roads four laned in our city.

I would like to see our Mobile Airport open some nice bars and a gameroom for the kids.

Our downtown area is finally get a makeover. More needs to be done with abandoned buildings and so forth.

I think more sidewalk cafes are needed.

As for the state I would like to see a lottery. Everybody here in Mobile has to go to Florida to buy lottery tickets. Alabama needs revenue for its schools.

We need to get our act together and finish the rail here so we have some form of public transit. Also, finish the upper portion of 485 so there is a complete loop around Charlotte.

The city in which I live is currently working on a development agreement for a proposed $170 million Ethanol Plant. I think it is a great idea, especially with the creation of 50 full-time jobs in a community around 5,000 people, but now we are at the point of debating tax abatements, annexation of property and special assessment bonds to cover infrastructure work that needs to be done prior to the plant going on-line.

Mobile is also in the running for EAD-building those tanker planes for the Air force and Alabama is trying to entice a big steel company to come here.
