Verifiable history is proven through the scientific method. Religioud history is word-of-mouth. Big difference.

Good post Irish

Irish, are you saying that the ranking expert on evidence was wrong? Interesting. I will ask your advice on all my legal matters from this point forward, as opposed to paying my lawyer $100/hour. I would be wasting my money paying him when I can get your "expert" advice for free.
Sorry, I will stick to the experts opinions. You, of course, are entitled to keep yours, as if Fresh. Fresh dismisses things that tend to disprove his statements out of hand without giving them a proper reading. Do you?

I read the piece on the resurrection. It was very good. He quoted the bible, and nothing but the bible, and afterward he tried to save your immortal soul, like all good christians try to do. My problem lies with the fact that he didn't look anywhere outside the bible. I'm not saying he is wrong. Looking at his reasons, and the quotes he used, yes that provides strong evidence that the resurrection happened, but the bible is not meant to be taken literally. The bible is a collection of stories meant to tell christians how to live, and behave. I am saying the evidence is faulty in that the bible is not supposed to be taken literally. If he looked at outside resources, to go along with the bible then sure I would be more willing to believe him.

Oh, I guess scientists are no longer experts when it comes to scientific matter.

Perhaps I should use another example, as those who are skeptical have seemed to get hung up on the one I used. Did Hannibal actually cross the Alps on elephants to attack the Romans?

Irish, he looked at the testimonies, weighed their admissability and came to the conclusion that they would be as admissable as any evidence he'd seen in any trial. The conclusion is that a judge would not determine that the evidence was false.
