 But I admit I become a weather nerd during hurricane season. It's fascinating to watch coverage as big hurricanes make landfall, especially now that the Weather Channel is in HD.

Bertha was the first sizable hurricane of the season.

Yeah, probably about 8-10 times. Problem is the part of Tampa I live in is a peninsula itself with water (two different bays) all around so it's just above sea level so I'm the first to go.

Central Texas could also use some rain. All the tropical depressions and smaller hurricanes that have come near the Texas coast have completely skipped over Austin.
