GOD BLESS NO# 11....and thank you for providing me with one of the most fabulous moments in my sports fan life........when you hoisted the 1994 STANLEY CUP in MSG. that photo of you exhibiting the SAME UNBRIDLED JOY that all of us RANGER fans felt.....has to be one of the GREATEST SPORTS PHOTOS ever taken. NEW YORK RANGER CAPTAIN MARK MESSIER....no#11.....and 1994 STANLEY CUP CHAMPION..........may all your days be filled with the very best. your kind will not soon be ever seen again.

Messier, one of the greatest all-around players ever. I cant say I will miss him though, he terrorized my Kings when he was an Oiler. But he was one of the last greats from that era.

It was just a matter of time before he made it official. His last Ranger home game made it seem pretty evident that he was gone. Can't say enough great things about him. That '94 Rangers Cup run was one of the greatest zeitgeists in sports.
It tastes like... burning.

He was truly one of hockey's best and even as a rival Pittsburgh Penguins fan, sometimes you have to look at individual talent and love for the sport that players hold. Messier was a great player.

Welcome to the HoF, Mark.
