The Steelers beat the Browns 29-9 in the AFC divisional playoffs in 1994.

But these "rematch" stats usually contain a disclaimer to the effect that same-division matchups (where the two teams played each other twice during the regular season) are not included in the calculation.

Oh glorious day! The Patriots are finally out of the playoffs! I'm so psyched that Denver sent them out with a big loss like that.

Can't admit to being sad either, even though I thought New England would win.

I hope T.O. signs with the Jets - that way, when he burns Rodney Harrison for a TD he can wave the ball in Harrison's face, and I'll enjoy every nanosecond of it!

I would cry tears of joy if T.O. signed with the Jets.

Can candy-arm Pennington even throw it that far downfield?

Are we ever going to get a playoff game where both teams bring it this year?

Hell no. I doubt he's going to be the starting QB next season.

Leave it to the freakin' Colts to choke away another playoff game...

The officiating left a little to be desired in that one. I thought the Steelers got jobbed big time on a couple of calls/no-calls by the officials.

So, what happened to the blowout of the Steelers by the Colts everybody predicted? Come on, guys. Game shouldn't have even been that close. Steelers dominated and the officials let the Colts come back into that game. That was definately an INT by Polamolu.

Well we saw two of the NFL's elite quarterbacks get roughed up this weekend, Manning and Brady.

Yeah, kind of ironic that the two QBs that are seen as 'game-managers' who their teams hope don't 'F' it up are the ones who won over the two media darling QBs in Manning and Brady.

Is it just me or did Manning look like he was aiming the ball in the first half? The Colts just did not show up on offense in the first half and they paid for it in the end. The defense played about as well as could be expected.

Manning chokes in the playoffs once more. 3-6 lifetime isnt a great stat for one of the best QB's in the league. He then sounded like he was calling out his lineman after the game.

I said Pitt had a chance to upset... I called a close game, but an Indy win. Does that count for s'thing? How bout Manning calling out his linemen? That was BS, Manning just plain sux in the playoffs -ALWAYS gets "rattled".
Pats loss doesn't hurt that much when the Colts lose too... talk about a sore loser huh? Oh well.... when's opening day? LOL

Peyton had a point to a degree, but even when they were not getting to him he was airmailing passes over to the bench in the first half. I don't get why the Colts didn't go with the run early on. James was having success running the ball, but with Peyton sucking it up they fell too far behind to run the ball in the second half.

I'm pleased about the Pats being knocked out of the playoffs, but aloha's comment about opening day is one reason I'm not. I've enjoyed wall-to-wall NFL talk on the local sports radio, but, there'll be one day of post-mortem with the regulars tomorrow, and then they'll start talking about what the Red Sox are missing, and the soap opera that always surrounds Fenway.

I was glad to see Joey back up his midweek blather with what should have been the critical and final defensive plays of the game by sacking that idgit Manning.

Manning apologists will claim he "had a point," that his protection wasn't what it could have been, blah, blah. But folks like myself who think he's just an overrated punk will use his "protection" blame game as further evidence that he's and overrated schmuck. And, while he scored on the drive, what kind of asshole tells his HC to shove it and take the punt team off the field.
I mean, really. I guess it's the same kind of asshole who blames his offensive line for his inability to find open guys. As if they have something to do with that...
The result of that game couldn't have happened to two better guys, Manning the Schmuck Who Can't Win Big Games, and Vanderjagt the Liquored-Up Kicker.
