Default Will Frank survive at Nebraska

that was a nice win in boulder on Friday, but was it enough to keep Frank as Head coach.
The nice thing about yesterdays win is that the Huskers played with a lot of fire and Heart, which in past games had been missing from there game faces.
And really if they can win the bowl game and end up with 10 wins that wouldnt be such a bad season.
The fact that we had lost a few games isnt the problem with Frank if you ask me, its the way it seemed as though the team gave up at times when they new the other team was better.
Im not sure he is the kind of coach that can take this program to the next level.
And if he is fired is there onother head coach that can come to the heartland and take the program to another level.
Only time will tell.
Good win guys

This is actually a great question. I don't think he will survive at Nebraska ... they were so dominant, but they have become a part of the pack with him at the helm. He has an impressive overall record that is mostly padded by success from early on. In recent years, his numbers are poor by Cornhusker standards.

Horrible move on Nebraska's part. How long did Osborne go without winning a national championship? Fans get greedy and spoiled too quickly.

Has Nebraska not been the team they were in the mid-90s? Absolutely. However, they've been tough and competitive every year except last year. Husker fans are expecting too much.

Firing a coach is a bad move unless you've got a replacement lined up who will definitely be better. Really now, it's easy to blame Solich, but who are the Huskers going to hire that is better? Anyone else is a gamble.

I think Texas can't reach their potential with Mack Brown at the helm, but unless we could get someone like Steve Spurier after he gets canned by the Skins, we have to stick with him. Nebraska should have had the same mindset. They're going to regret this, methinks...

There are a couple of things that folks forget. Yes, Osborne survived through title-less years, but in a different era. I think Pederson sees two things, and I think he's probably right:
1. Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas State are better teams in the Big 12 than Nebraska
2. Wins have dropped because recruiting has dropped. Yeah, Big Red won 9 games, but lost three games that they shouldn't have, if they intend to compete on a nearly annual basis, two in division, and one in the other division. They can't EVER win the division with three losses in conference (more'n likely), and that won't cut it. With recruiting drying up, in no small part to ESPN's blasting NU at every turn last year, it was time to make a change. Recruiting, and offensive philosophy, are two huge things that need to change.

I agree completely. Who are they going to get who is better? Steve Spurrier?

I don't know about "better" but rumors are flying that Pittsburgh's head coach Walt Harris is a leading candidate for the position. I hope he goes to Nebraska. Then sPitt will have to find a new and hopefully lesser coach than Harris.
