Let these trends be your guide: Since Denver repeated as Super Bowl champions in 1998 after also having gone all the way in '97, no Super Bowl-participating team - winner or loser - has gotten past the divisional playoffs the following year. In addition, since the aforementioned Denver team(s), not one Super Bowl winner had gotten past the wild-card round the year before, and all but one of them (Tampa Bay, last year) didn't even make the playoffs the previous season.

It's early yet and subject to change, but if I had to weigh in right now, I'd go with Denver vs. Tampa Bay in Super Bowl XXXIX - should the Eagles sign Terrell Owens, however, I would ignore all the trends and pick Philadelphia to win the whole thing.

Man, it is way to early to tell. The draft hasn't even taken place yet.

But, if I had to make a pick, I am going to go with the Ravens... I know I am homer.

It's TOO early!!

Let's at least get through the first month of free agency.

At this point last year, folks had the Bucs dominating 2003... that worked out well.

I WILL speculate that the odds-on favorites will be Indy, KC, and NE in the AFC, and St Louis, Carolina, and Dallas in the NFC.

I'm a Cowboy fan! I hope Dallas does well. Even so, I think Dallas might fall on their face this year (3-13).

I'll throw out a prediction for the Super Bowl:

Oakland defeats Seattle

Watch out for the Cleveland Browns! There might be a dynasty brewing ....

This is a just for fun thread, right? I mean, we won't be responsible for the picks we make here in January. I think the AFC will dominate again. The AFC game will really be the superbowl again this year. So therefore....... Patriots and Ravens in the conference championship. That winner will beat anyone the NFC throws at them.

Obviously for fun, yeah.

As Dave pointed out, we've got free-agency, the draft....training camp...pre-season...etc, etc...

Hell, it's just fun for me to see Anthony calling for the Eagles....if MeO shows up, that is.

I got a feeling it will Philadelphia vs Indianapolis. Philly finally breaks the 3 year curse and they win it all.

Of course, this prediction will probably change.

I agree with the general consensus that it's far too early for this, but I guess I can play along. Denver or Indy and Green Bay or Philly. Sleepers: the Jets, Seahawks, and Saints (in that order).

And Anthony, if you mention Terrell Owens in the same sentence as you refer to the Eagles even one more time before a contract between the two is actually signed, I will personally come to San Francisco and take away your keyboard.
WE GET IT.
