Default NFL record query

Does anyone know what quarterback holds the record for most intercepted passes returned for a TD in a season? I know A.J. Feeley has 5; is that the record?

Definitely not: In 2001 Peyton Manning (!) had six interceptions returned for touchdowns - and I have a feeling this isn't the all-time record either (although this is the most any QB has given up from 2001 to the present).

Of course what makes Feeley's number that much worse is the fact that he has only appeared in eight games so far this season, and since he also had a fumble returned for a touchdown against San Francisco, that's six TDs he's allowed all told.

I don't know, but if I had to guess I would say Vinny T. he threw 35 back in '88 for an awful Bucs team.

The NFL and its official statistician, the Elias Sports Bureau, don't track this statistic. However:

SI.com's Reuben Frank reports that Feeley has a strong chance at the record.

Some candidates:
* The 1984 Chiefs QBs (Todd Blackledge and Bill Kenney). That team holds the record for most INTs returned for TDs in a game -- four.
* Tobin Rote. He's tied for 2nd in that category, and threw 24 picks in 1950.
* John Hadl. Also tied for 2nd, 25 picks in 1971.
* Babe Parilli. The '67 Patriots had seven INTs returned for touchdowns.
* George Blanda. Holds the NFL record with 42 INTs in one season.
* Manning. 6 makes him a definite contender.
* Testaverde. Like doublee said.

Testaverde only has three INTs that have been returned for TDs this year.
