Default NBA Live 2001

I got this game for Christmas from my grandmother .
It's really fun, except not especially realistic.
Vince Carter would probably be thrilled to learn that he racked up 60 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds, 7 blocks and 6 steals.
Antonio Davis collected 18 rebounds and 28 points.
And on another game, AI had 47 points and Eric Snow had, well, 23 steals.
It's pretty fun to play, except the commentary is dull and repetitive.

Buy This Game!

7/10

Meh -- I imagine it's the same as NBA Live 2000, which I've played and, yes, it is too repetitive.

...does Carter jump 3 feet above the top of the backboard in NBA Live 2001, too!?

....isn't 2002 out now?

1. No, I believe that's been corrected.
I've been trading... I traded Muggsy Bogues and Tyrone Corbin for Rick Fox, then traded fox for Peja Stojakovic...

2. I don't know, but I guess so...

Ha! Try in 2000 I once scored 100 with.... MICHAEL OLAWOKANDI! hahahaha

basically, every shot on my team was from him, and I just kept baseball passing it to him from inbounds.... sick.

Ya -- I did that with Carter when I still had 2000 on my computer (uninstalled it to make up room for my hockey game & The Sims -- I'm only working with 6 gigs here!! ) -- every shot was by him.

I don't know what my record is, but I want to know out of you guys that have scored 60 or 80 or 100 with one player -- how long were the periods set to??? Back in the day when I was really into NBA Live, I could probably make 200 with Carter if there were no fouls and the periods were set to 12 minutes, but I only played 5 minutes.

I really am missing out on these games, eh? I used to play those NBA games back on N64 and even Super Nintendo, but I've really fallen behind with all these new consoles. My computer is good enough, I wonder if it's worth it to play them on here? I've got a good controller already.

I don't know, honestly, if I would recommend it.
If you like basketball and can stand a certain degree of fantasy, then play it. If you can't stand a little arcade hoops, don't buy it.
The game's fun, plus its interface is easy to use and the gameplay is simple. You can play single games, seasons, franchise or 1 on 1. 1 on 1 is kind of boring. You select your player and your opponent, adjust your rules and go play.
The annoying part is that you control the defensive player and sometimes have difficulties following the opponent, while he sticks to you like flies on s**t.
