Default Illinois Governor Arrested

For trying to sell Obama's senate seat. I guess the Richard J. Daley school of politics is still in operation.

Wasn't the previous Illinois governor in trouble, too? I have no idea what's going on here and why the f'n governor thinks he can get away with trying to SELL the Senate seat. Obama is calling for his resignation, rightfully so.

I don't think he got to that stage just yet did it? I think they are nailing for soliciting 'bids' to obtain the seat.

Obama will have a great deal of difficulty with the Democratic Party in Illinois. Some of them feel he owes them "favors". He will spend a lot of time and energy distancing himself from his home state's party.
This is just politics as usual in Illinois.

Rumor has it he tried selling the seat to a few of those dead folks who voted for JFK back in 1960.

Here is a story about the situation this morning:
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...MPLATE=DEFAULT
Maybe the governor will get the idea that no one wants him in office anymore?

If the dude did it, he needs to be removed from office and jailed.

Just the same, there's a whole lot of sore-losin' goin' on at FOX News - and I'm sure on the radio talk show that fat, drug-addict chickenhawk hosts as well.

Good thing there's no such thing as pre-emptive impeachment under the Constitution; otherwise, this sour-grapes crowd would be urging it be done to Obama.

There was a funny dialogue about this on the Daily Show. Apparently 3 of the last 7 governors in Illinois have been convicted of crimes....this will make it 4 of 8. Then Stewart said that only 48% of murderers are convicted of their crimes. So, kids, make the smart choice; governor of Illinois, or become a murderer!

Obviously funnier if you watch it than read my poor description

And speaking of dicey Illinois politicians, there's Jack Ryan, who opposed Obama in the '04Illinois Senate Race. He had to withdraw after his divorce records from actress Jeri Ryan (aka, the hot teacher on "Boston Public") suggested he had tried to coerce her into going to and performing in private sex clubs with him.

Ryan withdrew from the race when the records came to light. Needing a last second replacement, the Illinois GOP landed Alan Keyes (who had bashed Hillary's carpetbagging on the record) to replace Ryan on the ticket. Obama crushed him, and the rest is history.

But if I remember correctly, they handcuffed Blagojevich with his hands in front - in contrast to Plaxico Burress, who was cuffed behind his back.

Why the double standard?

Okay, I am curious as to what difference it makes?

That is an interesting question, Anthony. I, too, am curious what difference it makes.

Here is an interesting story, comparing Illinois to Louisianna to determine which state has the most corrupt politician. Both parties are equally at fault in these states, by the way.:
