Post SC Newsfeed: Does Clemens' Contract Disrespect Baseball?

When speaking about the integrity of the game, we must address the very basic idea of baseball as being a team sport, which takes the efforts of every player to be in attendance for every game, whether or not they are actually participating that day.

Yes, I am completely against this type of deal, and the way Roger Clemens approaches each team he plays for. He puts himself above the team, and the sport of baseball for that matter. We all know he is one of the greatest of all time, and he deserves big money, but the fact that he waits until the middle of the season to sign, along with the fact that he doesn't travel with the team when he's not pitching is simply insulting to all the other players in the league. His arrogant approach, and lack of "team spirit" make me respect him less. Hall of famer? Of course. Team player? Hardly.
Do yourself a favor, become your own savior.

Think Fresh.

But is he at fault for that or do you blame the team that signs him? What if a team refused that special treatment and he just retired? These teams are offering him this stuff - who would turn it down?

I blame these desperate teams that say "I dont care what he wants, give it to him - we just need someone that can win us a game!"
Homer: "All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer."

Pimpbot is on a distinguished road

I think his career does the talking here and if a team wants to play ball, I have no problem with it. Jokers like David Wells need to shut it imo
My Teams Washington Redskins, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes, Phoenix Suns all things Notre Dame And ENGLAND RUGBY WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS!
