Default Can Ohio State still go to the BCS CG?

Ohio State is 7th and only needs to get to #2...not #1.

So 5 of these 6 remaining teams have to lose one game (with OSU beating UM of course) and they all have a tough road down the stretch.

1. LSU - AT Ole Miss, Arkansas, SEC CG (Tenn., Georgia, Florida)

2. Oregon - AT Arizona, AT UCLA, Oregon State

3. Kansas - Iowa State, vs. #5 Missouri, Big Twelve CG (Oklahoma)

4. Oklahoma - AT Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Big Twelve CG (Kansas or Mizzou)

5. Missouri - AT Kansas State, vs. #3 Kansas, Big Twelve CG (Oklahoma)

6. West Virginia - AT #22 Cincinnati, #24 UConn, Pittsburgh

***********************

The thing is all 6 teams will have to play 3 more games while OSU has only one left...Michigan.

Just pointin' it out. I want 'em to go to the Rose Bowl so I hope it doesn't happen but you have to admit there is a chance. Not likely but not impossible.

Well one out of KU Mizzou and Colorado will be win out so that leaves LSU, Oregon, and WVU. I think WVU won't lose again and LSU just might (their luck has to run out ).So that leave us with Oregon.... they win tonight and it's over for OSU.

Wait a sec...

WVU won't lose again? UConn and Cincy aren't pushovers. Pitt is a rivarly game.

Oregon has to go AT UCLA and then has the Civil War with OSU if they survive tonight.

If I had to guess I'd say that Ohio State makes it to at least #4 in the BCS in 3 weeks...provided they beat Michigan.

Well, only 5 of the 6 have to lose and the only two teams ahead of Ohio State that the BCS wouldn't screw over in favor of the Buckeyes (due to $) are Oklahoma and LSU. If it came down to it and LSU was #1, WVU was #2 and Ohio State was #3 I'm sure the computers would "fix" that problem to put the Bucks in before the final rankings were released.

Oregon lost so OSU will be up to at least #6 provided they beat Michigan.

Told ya mush. It will fall into place. God hates me like that...remember?

No one is going to believe me, but this was in the back of my mind as soon as the polls came out last week and OSU fell to seventh (ahead of Arizona State).

I really believe West Virginia is going to lose tonight or to UConn next week (and OSU could jump them after today anyway). Then there's the whole Big 12 thing where we're guaranteed that two of the three teams will lose, with an outside shot that all three lose

With LSU, if Kentucky can beat Tennessee, I feel Georgia can give LSU one hell of a game and very possibly win. (Don't take this as a jinx, Mike!)

This really is not that unlikely a scenario, IMHO.

I don't take that as any kind of jinx, Ross. Most of the time, I'm as pessimistic as they come., but I think UGA would definitely have a shot at winning LSU.

w/that being said, I think if LSU doesn't make it, we would in all likelihood be looking at WVU vs Oklahoma.

Picture this. OU is done tonight, Missouri beats Kansas next week, OU beats Missouri in the Big 12 title game. That takes care of the 3 Big 12 teams. All thats left is for either LSU or West Virginia to fall, and Ohio State is back in.

Wouldnt you just love it buck?

How bad is the NCAA rooting against WV vs Kansas. WOW that would be a travesty.

Airfare, tickets and mapped out plan of events have already gone down.

I'm going to Pasadena...period.

If we get stuck in that damn title game again I'm really gonna lose it.

Projected BCS rankings though...

1. LSU
2. Kansas
3. Missouri
4. West Virginia
5. Ohio State
6. Arizona State

Kansas-Missouri play each other so one is out. Gotta root my heart out for LSU and WVU. God forgive me.

I'd say it's about a 50/50 shot either way. And if Ohio State were to win the Rose Bowl, the only way they won't win the AP vote for the NC is if LSU wins the BCS game.

It is at least 50/50 at this point. I just released my bowl predictions and honestly believe it may be even more than that but I hope we can go to the Rose. I'd rather play in the Sugar or the Orange after the Rose than Super Bowl Jr. At the very least I could watch OSU somewhat close to New Year's Day.

Like I said, there will be no bigger fan of LSU, WVU and the Big 12 combo than me down the stretch.

ASU's SOS is a monster and why I have 'em #1 in my poll now. I think they are the best team in the nation so playing them in the Rose would be a great challenge as well as an honor considering they would be Pac Ten champs.
