Default Goalie night...

...what was with the goalies last night? Scoring has been slightly up after one month of the season but there were FIVE shutouts last night and the teams that didn't lose via shutouts scored just five goals combined in four other games.

It's the goalie equipment I'm telling you!

Lot's of guy's are complaining about the bigger pads and other equipment.

I watched the Flames / Rangers game last night.

Both goalies (McLennehan and Blackburn) where great... but I agree that the pads are fricking huge.

There needs to be a change in the equipment rules to stop this

Who are you agreeing with? I never brought that up

...personally, I think the gloves should be smaller. Those things are HUGE and smaller gloves would award quickery glove hand goalies. Also, pads, etc. should be checked regularly like they were in '99 (i think it was) when the new regulations were put in place

I watched the NY/Calgary game. Both goalies looked sharp. Leet's game winner barely went in past the goal line. I don't have any comments regarding the equipment since I don't pay close attention to that stuff.

Anyone see the Isles Vs. Canadiens? Montreal dumped it in and Osgood went behind the net. But the puck went off the boards and into the goal! Maybe it wasn't goalie night after all...

Then again, Theodore has 40 something saves during the game.

The Philly/NJ game looked good too.

I watched the game, Wedge... that was a weird goal.
The pads, that's weird. They are big, but scoring going upwards would be somewhat strange... the gloves should be smaller, I agree.

Mr. Roy has made bigger equipment famous, I think there needs to be a eqipment rule for goalies just like there is for ilegal sticks and such. Although if scoring is up right now imagine how it'd increase when the eqipment is smaller! We'd see 8-6 hockey games.

There are goalie equipment rules; just not strictly enforced, I think.
