i find you 2 guys (soxfan and Diceman) catcher choices odd. I-Rod is no longer the AL MVP he was 5 years ago. he is now more a wash upped guy who unfortunatley got some of his best years killed by injury. he can still prolly produce 25-80 numbers but can you really say he is better than Piazza?

I guess time will tell. he is soooooo many steps above anyone else at the catcher position defensively it's rediculous, still. And he'll be the center of attension in FLA. But i'll wonder if he keeps his fire. He should have moved to left field 3 years ago. And Piazza shouldn't catch either.

I'd have to disagree with you saying I-Rod is the best catcher defensively. Damian Miller and Benito Santiago are two of the best defensively.

i agree with qb rms i believe Benito Santiago is better. I-Rod has lost a step. Piazza isn't the best defensive catcher but he can hit and that is important

Saying Benito's arm is better is just plain crazy though. He's 39 or 38 you can't tell me he's better then I-Rod. And like I said before only time will tell. And the only catcher who can even touch I-Rod defensively is Henry Blanco.

Yeah, Pudge's probably a gamble. I went with him partly to be contrary , and also because I think, at 31, he's got a few more good years in him yet. He went on a tear at the end of last season -- raised his batting average nearly 30 points, I think.

For real, he had 17 homers and around 60 RBI's with a 315 average. Better then most.
