Default Any John David Booty Fans?

I really like this guy and his potential. I like him also because he is from Louisiana.

I had a feeling that he would be a good QB. I realize he has a good team behind him, but he is talented. He's got a great receiver to throw to in Dwayne Jarrett.

Booty was 25 of 36 for 257 yards and three TD's in their win over Nebraska Saturday. Booty is a Junior. He has good size at 6-3 210. His QB rating is 158.2.

Anyone see him competing for the Heisman? I'm not sure yet, but with the offense under him he could.

More info on Booty:

Of course I like him. He's more of low-key guy than Leinart was. And Booty's been great in his first two starts. Booty's basically waited three years to play (after graduating high school a year early), and hopefully things will turn out great.

I think the Heisman is a possibility, but there might be USC fatigue amongst the voters. Plus there's a lot of good competition this year with various QBs and RBs.

Your right about the competition DA. Man I hate Louisville's QB Brohm broke his finger.

Adrian Peterson is looking very good, but for some reason I feel Oklahoma will not do that well this season and Peterson may suffer because of that.

So if he played for Vanderbilt he would be average. OK I can believe that.

Yeah, I like Booty as well. If USC is unbeaten come November his name will be right there in the mix. Heisman voters love QBs from the blue blood programs who have their teams in National Title contention. And, since Golden Boy Brady laid a big fat egg against Michigan last week the race is wide open right now.

Booty has been very good over his first two games, and I wouldn't have expected any less. Is he as good/better than Leinart? That remains to be seen...Leinart consistently performed at an extremely high level in close, high-profile games. Booty has yet to be in that situation. He will, however, have that opportunity this year- the chance to prove that he can win close games against very good opponents. Until then, I can't make any decision about his quality as a quarterback, since overall USC has the best talent in college football.
