Default Most inspiring althetic performance???

Hands down it had to be Farve on Green Bay. read this excerpt in case you forgot .......

.................................................................................................... .....
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- On the night his father died, Brett Favre addressed the Green Bay Packers in an emotional team meeting. He said he had no intention of leaving his football family, even at one of the lowest points in his life.

The next day, Favre played his heavy heart out, inspiring his teammates to do great things.

Favre passed for 399 yards and four touchdowns a day after his father's death, moving into second place in NFL history for career TD passes while leading the Packers to a 41-7 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Monday night.
.................................................................................................... .....

What an inspired performance. I know the Raiders were not the same team from 2003-2003 but still, that's pretty awesome numbers against anyone.

I think you guys may be missing the point a bit. I think Habs is looking for performances where a guy had to dig down really deep and overcome adversity to give a stellar performance.

Jordan's last title win is one where he practically rolled out of the hospital bed the day of the game with the flu to snatch the series away from Utah.

Randy Johnson coming back on no rest to close out the series against the Yanks.

I will put one out there that very few people have probably heard about and that is Chris Paul's 61 points just days after his grandfather was gunned down at the age of 61 during Paul's senior year in high school. He intentionally missed his last free throw so he could end the game with 61 points.

When Byron Leftwitch played with a broken leg and had to be carried by his lineman up the field. This was in his senior year with Marshall.

That game was on ESPN and was by far the most inspiring performance by a single player.

He ended up doing really good for the rest of the game too/

hey, how about Mario Lemieux winning the scoring crown the year he missed more than 20 games while he was treated for Hodgkin's Disease?
Either that, or Jackie Robinson's first year in Major League Baseball.

Double D that was pretty freaky, matching his grandfather's age by getting 61 points. I never heard of that. That's a pretty good one.

The Chris Paul story was a great one, they showed on sportscenter about a year ago, thanks for refreshing me with it. I don't think Kobe playing after a trial is that bad, it had no effects on him b/c he knew nothing about the trial could go wrong.

wow I forgot about that when Byron Leftwich was carried by his lineman. I remeber watching that in complete shock.I Would have to say that ranks pretty high up there. How bout when Rocky beat Apollo. In reality though what about Isaih Thomas in the Championship with his messed up ankle that was pretty impresive.

I'll agree with that.

I have to shout one out for Favre, pick an injury, death or whatever and he keeps coming out the next week as starting QB. I will pin point one moment, his fatherís death. He came out hurting "I can only imagine" and was perfect that night Night, IMO

Favre is a true fighter and is a great roll model,
